Meet Captain Keiley

Captain Jon Keiley was introduced to sport fishing at an early age by his father, a longtime Maui charter fisherman. Jon started working as a deckhand on Lahaina charter boats during his breaks from college. After finishing school, he continued to follow his passion for fishing and got his captain’s license.

Jon operated the vessel Action for Start Me Up Sport Fishing, specializing in early-departure trips targeting mahi and tuna. In 2021, he took the next step in his fishing career, becoming part-owner in Automatic Sport Fishing. The devastating fire in 2023 wiped out the Lahaina charter fleet and Jon is getting back on the water with his new venture, Action Sport Fishing.

Action Sport Fishing will be operating out of Ma’alaea Harbor until Lahaina is ready to reopen. Action Sportfishing is a 35-foot Cabo vessel. Departing daily from Maʻalaea Harbor, the boat combines comfort with performance. Onboard amenities include a spacious bridge, ample cabin seating, and a modern, well-kept restroom. Outfitted with top-notch equipment like outriggers, GPS, sonar, and a full range of tackle from light (25s) to heavy (80s), Action is ready for just about any fishing adventure. The boat accommodates up to six guests, with typical departure times between 5:30 and 6:00 a.m., seven days a week.
