FAQ

How do I book a charter?

The easiest way to schedule a charter is to contact us directly. Call or text (808)280-9271 or email us at info@actionsportfishingmaui.com.

Where are you located?

We are located in Ma’alaea Harbor, Slip 5.

How big is the boat?
Our current vessel, Malia, is 29 feet long. There is plenty of fishing space on the back deck and it’s only a step up into the salon area, so everyone can be a part of the action. Our cabin is equipped with a clean, private toilet and two comfortable bunks.
How many people can I bring?
We are licensed for 6 customers. However, we have set our maximum at 4 to improve comfort. For families with children, we may be able to accommodate 5 passengers.
What do I need to bring?
You will need to bring your food/drink and sun protection (hat, sunglasses, long-sleeve shirt, etc.)
What can we catch?
  • Marlin
  • Tuna
  • Mahi
  • Ono
  • Snapper
  • Trevally

Will I get seasick?
We try to keep our customers as comfortable as possible, but seasickness is out of our control. If you’re worried, it’s a good idea to take motion sickness medication before you get on the boat. Better safe than sorry.
Can I keep my fish?
The simple answer is yes. Enjoying your fish is part of the experience so we’re happy to fillet the catch for you. The only requirement is that absolutely no fish is wasted. We normally fillet enough fish for our customers to enjoy a meal or two while they’re on Maui. If we have excess catch, we take those fish to market or share them with our family/friends. This is standard practice here in Hawaii.
Do I need a fishing license?
No, at this time a fishing license is not required to go on a charter in Hawaii.
